Flip Flop Robert Morey Confused on Roman Catholicism: Cult or Not? #2

Part #2: Radio host Bob Morey takes different positions on Roman Catholicism depending on what theological setting he happens to find himself in. Sometimes Morey says Roman Catholicism is an "overgrown cult" & not Christian at all, sometimes he says it is a historic "Christian church" with "garbage" added, & sometimes he he says Romanism is a "yes/no" question. Morey simply says one of these answers depending on who is sponsoring him to speak. Hank Hanegraaff, director of the Christian Research Institute & host of the "Bible Answer Man" radio show whose founder was Dr Walter Martin who was a frequent guest on the John Ankerberg Show says "Dr" Robert A. Morey of Faith Defenders, Biblical Thought, Faith Community Church (FCC), California Biblical University and Seminary (CBUS), Bob Morey Live, and Doxological Apologetics is dishonest & unscholarly. Hanegraaff's comments come in reference to a report Morey wrote in his national "Researcher" newsletter attacking Gregory A. Boyd, author of the book, "Oneness Pentecostals and the Trinity." Boyd's book was endorsed by Hanegraaff & the CRI staff. In a letter by Dr. Boyd he states, "..."Truth-Seeker Bob [Morey] went after me with a vengence. He was trying to prove Hank Hanegraaff was incompetent in endorsing my book by proving that I was a heretic on the basis of my former book "Trinity and Process". He sent letters around the country telling Christian distributors to stop selling my books because I was (among other things) a process theologian, that I denied the Incarnation, I denied the Trinity!!!, and I was, in short, a closet liberal. His tactics half worked as my book sales dropped significantly. I still get hassaling mail from people about this. Well, to make a long story short, I have never in my life encountered, or even imagined, such blatant malice, deceit, and vile ungodliness -- let alone in someone who taunts himself as a Christian leader. At first I thought this was just an extraordinarily dull person (I had never heard of him before) who couldn't read, who had an extraordinary meglomaniac streak which made him want to be a "scholar." Hence he looked silly. But, as the case wore on, I began to see that the situation was far worse. He 'had' to understand my work enough to know 'how' to distort it. And, I began to see, he had to be lying intentionally to be so consistent and manipulative with them. This man, I finally came to see, WAS EVIL. He's a megalomaniac with a vengence, and so far as I can see, not an ounce of honesty or integrity to curb it with. This man is, in my estimation, very bad for Christianity, and very dangerous." What you fail to understand and from hearing many of your sound bites here on YT, Dr Morey is a type "A" person when it comes to the topic of The Bible, its historical content and truth in general. That means, he is incapable of giving a simple answer to a simple question (thank God), as he has to answer in a way that gives the questioner a complete answer full of content and rich with knowledge. He is a Genius and a modern day renaissance man. Btw, I heard no contradiction.

@dragonlee1bfed What you fail to understand is that Morey is a LIAR & A CHEAT. He ripped off his radio man for $70,000 (did you see that video?). Have you watched the police investigator videos? He is NOT a genius (he tries to make people think he is a genius because he says people, especially christians, are GULLIBLE). Morey says he CAN READ 25 BOOKS AN HOUR, do you believe that? Have you watched the videos showing how bad his Islam apologetics are? How much money are you currently giving him?

Robert Morey is a religious charlaton who uses the religion he professes to believe in as a front to bamboozle people out of their money. The Bible says there will be people like this (1 Timothy 3:3,8; Titus 1:7,11; 1 Peter 5:2, etc.) and Morey is all this including being a Proverbs 6 man (the six, yea seven things that the Lord hates) as well as a third rate "scholar" (which is another mask he hides behind). I just realised who you are! I have to say,I have appreciated your work in Christ as a serious defender of Truth and someone that has shown false doctrin. As one that has The Spirit of God, why don't you contact Morey, meet with him and sort this out? Post the outcome on YT. But it seems clear Mr W that this situation with Dr M is a massive weight on your mind. Like yourself, Morey is anointed with the Spirit of God and Christian life on this Earth is way too short to continue this way.

Also, Like AW Pink. William Lane Craig, J Macarthar, and many more, that i consider to be of the "Genius" level, Dr Morey's books have opened up an aspect and depth of The Bible as powerful and rich as The Spirit of God would allow. I agree all incidents mentioned need to be addressed, so, write to the man and discuss. It seems you have a hatred for the man that is unhealthy and I am not the only one who has observed this. Just saying its not a good thing to carry along the road of life...

@truthseekerbobmorey yes I am aware of Mike's $70k incident from the YT coverage you gave, and again I have seen the Investigator's vid. Question commiting a crime = Poilice charges and arrest? Re the 25 book comment, I have the actual radio show recording, where, that is said and its in the clear context of research and I understood Dr Morey's comments as that. He explains God made him a prolific reader to research for topics..meaning going over pages quickly.

I see no contradiction Dr.Morey Never said "they are a cult" he was asked if RC was a cult and he said yes and no. He says yes because of the false teaching and he says no because it is historic( false) but historic christian church (Christian in the general sense of believing in Christ) Example:Mormons believe in Christ so properly they would be considered as christian (False Christians)

Thunderbolt1000T is very accurate here. Since Morey can change his tune at the drop of a hat then nothing is sacred to him. This is why he was recently kicked out of a national association of churches called Fellowship of Independent Reformed Evangelicals (F.I.R.E.). The 81 page FIRE summary on Morey said Morey was a liar, immoral, a slanderer, engager in criminal acts, a reprobate (non-Christian), etc. Morey is under criminal investigation as well.
