Well, $150 was a lot more back then, but it's not nearly equivalent to the $300 that a PS3 costs today or whatever an XBox 360 costs today. That's one of the reasons I can't afford today's consoles. I can't believe it took that long for the Wii with the Mario Kart game to go down to $150. Another thing about back then is that other stuff (like gas, food, etc) was a lot cheaper too, so it left people with more money to buy a Genesis, NES, SNES, etc.

It wasn't worth $100 of today's money. Wages weren't that much less back then. The cost of living was much lower than today since food, gas, housing, etc was a lot cheaper.
