He wasn't a crazy bastard. This world is fucked up and he knew too well about it. You think Kasparov is a legit grand master? He was a liar and cheated to gain his title with tons of pre-arranged games.

all you paranoid idiots bore me. Seriously - Fischer was crazy, insane. No two ways around it. Stop creating myths, stop building this stupid illusion. Enjoy his genius in algebraic notation.

Fischer had no genius in algebraic notation. He used the older method of notation. ;)

indeed he did :) what I meant was that his genius is displayed in algebraic notation and thus can be enjoyed in that form. Or in any other form of chess-notation for that matter.

My point was nothing more than this: There is no need to create myths about Fischer. His chess is more than enough to make his name immortal.

this world is fucked up, word. That's true. It has always been fucked up and it will always be fucked up - creating a paranoid delusion about post-Fischer GMs will not change that.

You do realize that, in effect, it would take the consent of the entire chess-elite to maintain a world champion for 15 years if he was just a patzer? How exactly should this conspiracy be conducted? What would be Short and Anands motivation for deliberately losing to Kasparov in WC matches?

This comment of mine was given as reply for what penxtwide had mentioned earlier. Somewhere i read Bobby's IQ was 186. Sir Issac Newton is supposed to have had an IQ level of 195.

It would be close to impossible to calculate the IQ of someone who never took an IQ test, so I'd take such an assertion with a grain of salt. However given Newton's achievements in the fields of mathematics and physics I think an IQ of 195 is believeable. Keep in mind that 195 is over 6 standard deviations from the norm and therefore individuals possessing such mental abilities would be extraordinarily rare.

All this possible true about your discussion of I.Q but Bobby would gave to Isaac mate in less than 15 moves. :)
