# 1 Prof Gates was right, Crowley LIED!

Now we know that the Sgt who arrested a Prof is a liar & fabricated his police report, yet - where is the outcry?

Ms. Mrs. & Mr. Public, you allow this alarmingly authoritarian situation to stand, the implications will be horrific.

"To Bob Healy, City manager of Cambridge: instead of Robert Watson & Chuck Wexler convening a committee to facilitate an analysis & develop recommendations that the Department can use as guidance in the future" - I have another idea:

Why not give Sgt Crowley the same preferential treatment he forced on a distinguished Scholar, Professor Gates? I am certain Crowley will still lie explaining his fairy tale report, but at least he'll get his lesson. Ms. Whalen never actually spoke with Crowley, according to Wendy Murphy her attorney, yet 1/3 of the police report detailed his supposed interaction & spoken words with Ms. Whalen. Lets give him a chance explaining the discrepancy & after all this hoopla, America is entitled, Mr. Healy!

Crowley wrote in his police report: "These actions on [the] behalf of Gates, ouch, Crowley is an instructor, correct? Ok, one more time, & ..caused citizens passing by this location to stop & take notice while appearing surprised & alarmed."

Just how much truth is in that sentence, Mr. Healy? Crowley also describes Ms. Whalen as "white" when she is, in fact, Portuguese. How can a person who can't tell a Portuguese apart from a white female be qualified to teach classes on "racial profiling"? Any idea Mr. Healy?

My goodness, you also said, quote: "the committee will not conduct an internal investigation, nor will they make any official judgment on the actions of the officers involved. Rather, the dept. will take the lessons learned surrounding the incident.. And how those lessons can be applied to the practices in training.."

Is that so? Now that America knows it was the Sgt who lied, the committee only wants to move forward. I like to point out, that in order to move forward, it is imperative to acknowledge the mistakes from the past.

All these Police Associations showing up backing a liar! Impossible to stop this train, they're ahead & already shoved their power & attitude down the throats of every one of us. And they knock Bill Maher being truthful. Aw, shucks, Mr. Healy, who knows, you might've just underestimated the American public, as they can & they might force you to investigate, you know?

I will personally start a petition as I am the victim of a horrific situation with a rogue police officer; but more on that in my next videos.

Crowley said quote: "there not many certainties in life but it is certain Sgt Crowley will not be apologizing.." That comment said all we needed to know about Crowley's persona. And now that we know he fabricated the police report this rogue cop must be fired! We must teach the police that his kind of behavior will not be tolerated.

The "blue wall of silence," i.e., an unwritten, unspoken "code" by which cops protect their own. Sure other officers verified Crowley's version. But according to their "code", they naturally would. If you dont behave docile & submissive to police officers, regardless of whether the cops are right or wrong, you are likely to find yourself arrested or beaten.

Some officers are murderers with badges & guns, how was Prof Gates to know whether he will come out alive? How many deaths did we see on YT, brutally beaten with swollen limbs & faces?

Crowley was vituperated by Prof Gates, & for Crowley, like most cops, anything less than total deference was unacceptable, how dare he, I have a badge for heavens sake. That is alarmingly authoritarian in its implications.

Seeing the Cambridge Police Department & their many Police Associations lined up reminded me of the joke "how many does it take to screw in a light bulb.."
They seem to have the man-power, why not employ a properly trained Sgt that could handle the situation more effectively? I wonder how often Crowley tells students not to take any blankety-blank from anyone; I would love to reward someone coming forward with that information.

What the police can always count on is that, no matter how aggressively they escalate the use of violence & no matter how obviously innocent or helpless his victims are, a police officer can count on his bosses even associations he does not belong to, to repeat any lie & make any excuse in order to find that "Official Procedures were followed." Any form of brutality or violence is therefore passed off as OK & the judgment will be dutifully repeated by enablers in the news media & the legal system & now, being abusive will get you an invite to the White House.

As a white person, I am glad to see this video posted. These are the very points that I have been making on another Gates/Crowley YT video. We have got to stop coming to the defense of policeman who break the law. This has got to stop or else it will continue to escalate. Thanks for posting. It is not popular for a white person to voice their disgust of policemen who abuse citizens of all colors. Deep down in our hearts we know it is wrong what Crowley did but we'd rather defend him.

Not all police officers are bullies. I've met and are friends with great officers of the law. And then they are asshole cops that got what coming to them.

Crowley did not lie, he tried to help Gates as much as possible. If you check Gates record, he's a racebaiter, a racehustler, and uses his race to get his way.

Most comments i've read on this video and other videos dealing with the subject are in favor of crowley. The all refuse to address all the facts and they only cling to the point that Gates lost his temper , was disorderly. Thats cool , but what about Crowley entering Gates home univitedly which is against Mass. Law. How about the fact he falsified his report. The fact that Gates lost his temper i clear, but Crowley''s antics should not be overlooked as most commentors are doing.

I agree with Dr. Dyson's statement that if Crowley been a black officer who made a similar error against a famous white Harvard Professor (say for example Henry Kissinger) he would have been placed on extended assignment as a traffic cop. I really don't see why Pres.Obama saw the need to have a so-called 'beer summit'. Can all citizens of police abuse and complaint expect the same? You shd see the YT series about police being a big "street gang"

Joegully, you're right on point. And why can't people think with their heads rather than their hearts, I'll never know. I have been harrassed, as well, by black cops in the past. Their have been some white cops who did the same. But I have been given breaks(moving vios) by white cops as well. We need law enforcement, that's the bottom line. What do people think we'll have to deal with if they weren't there?? How many opportunists are there out there, not counting gangs???

Two black cops came to Crowley's defense. The male cop even said that the kind of thing Crowley's being accused of does indeed happen in THEIR dept and will happen again. But he adamantly disposes the idea that Crowley was wrong in that matter. Now you have a black cop conceding brutality does exist in their camp but defends the innocence of one particular cop. Truth seems to be consistant here.
