That happens when the mics are placed so far away. Mere recording technology. If there were a close mic and a far mic of good quality you would say "sounds really good" =). There's reverb like this in all good auditoriums.

I played that song a couple years ago. Very pretty. Too much echo, but beautiful. Her's sounds not nearly as beautiful as his though, however.

More enjoyable than most on Youtube! The guy soloist has more beautiful tone than the girl though, most notably in the slow movement. Is she playing a cheap instrument?

Good ear of yours!! In fact, she was playing on a ply wood violin borrowed from one of the camp students when hers had gone to the shop.
