TriBoro Sand, Stone, and Gravel Fire, Voorhees Twp.

At 1311 hrs this afternoon Voorhees Command requested Rehab 13 for support at TriBoro Sand, Stone, and Gravel off of Rt 561 near the old Nike site. Members were operating in 40+ MPH winds on a brush and mulch pile on the stubborn including Stations 662-663 Engine 661 from Voorhees, West Berlin, Berlin, and Clementon brush units along with Tender 23-2 from Waterford Township. NJ State Forest Fire Units were also operating on this fire as well as 3 others. These were in Waterford, Hammonton, and Pemberton Twp along Rt. 70. Rehab 13 and U1388 responded and 1388M the UTV was placed in service to bring cold liquids to the firefighters working the fire line toward the rear of the Triboro property. It was so windy that the sand being picked up and blown around would have made it impossible for Rehab 13 to deploy toward the back of the property. Sand was in everyones' eyes, ears, nose, and every where else. It was like being in a sand blaster during the incident.

That place is Huge, Used to ride our ATV"s there yrs ago. Off Limits Now tho. Thanks for posting.
