I have cleaned up the closed captioning.
Randy

I will show you how to get Digipan up and running in a few minutes receiving PSK31 without needing any interface boxes or cables. I have even uploaded a video of PSK activity on 20 meters for you to practice receiving PSK31 and using Digipan.

This is not hard, it is fun. Randy

  • From what I've heard most, if not all, people using PSK31 only do it for quick contacts to log stations and don't chat for QSOs. Is this so?

  • @liquidgee13 I believe what is happening is that many have all their QSO text in macros. So a QSO may only be an exchange of pre-canned messages. I really don't need to see 10+ lines of equipment used in a station. Asked some questions of the other person and engage in a conversation.

  • @K7AGE As part of full disclosure on my part I haven't, and don't at the moment, operate PSK31. What I'm basing my statement on is posts others have made in ham relate forums stating their disappointment that the exchanges using this mode consist chiefly of signal reports, equipment and antenna gear and the like and that no "Hi, how you doing" sort of exchanges take place. Do you engage in ragchews using PSK31?

  • @liquidgee13 I certainly try to.

  • Randy, the psk31.com link is dead and the domain is for sale.
