FHP on Speeders

Everybody acts like 69 in a 50 is no big deal. Anything faster than 15 over is felony speeding. You can go to jail for that. Don't speed and you will hardly ever deal with that "asshole" cop unless he wants to tag you for 5 over or something which most of them don't. I've driven 5 over right past a cop once. Nothing.

I love how people hate any body with even a once of authority. Of corse, they just want to do whatever the hell they want to do because in their little world it's me, myself, and I. those are the ones you always hear complaining about cops and security.

It's broadcast on TruTV (formerly CourtTV). I don't think it's broadcast on any other channel in the states...

Well, I'm sure the laws are different in some states. In Florida, you can go to jail for "reckless driving," which is a "willful and reckless disregard for the safety of others." Normally speeding is not reckless, but at a certain point (depending on the road and driving conditions), it could be. But yeah, you usually can't get a reckless driving violation for just 15 over.

No you can't. **If** you kill someone while you're exceeding the speed limit then you go to jail for vehicular homicide. Driving over the limit is only a civil felony.

I live there. Where they pulled over I am just 2 buildings over.
This video is a bit older though. Speed limit is now 40. But people go 60 all the time. FHP pulls people over all day and night right there. LoL.
When it comes to getting pulled over: You don't want to get pulled over by FHP. They write a *lot* of tickets.
FHP deserves a lot of respect. One of the hardest cop-jobs and also one of the least paying cop-jobs.

i love this show, especially the hot cops they put on here

they do it because those types are not easily found doing blatant crimes... besides that... the highway patrol is just that.. they do not go to domestic fights or drunken people

these cops get busy trying to take money out of people with decent jobs. why they dont go where the drug dealers or gang members are, take the dirty money from them not from us.

Sounds like someone's gotten a few tickets in their lifetime :P
Answer: Because people die everyday in accidents caused by drivers breaking the traffic laws. The highway patrol (which is the agency featured here) is a police dept. with one specific goal: highway safety. Enforcement of the traffic laws is necessary to prevent the who-knows-how-many deaths we'd have without a police presence on the roads. If you don't want a ticket, the answer is simple: don't break the law in the first place.
