Sex Assault Victims "Fell Through the Cracks" 5.18.2010. Charles Koons was sentenced to spend 35-100 years in prison for molesting 16 boys in Dauphin County. But court records CBS21News obtained say there were other reports made decades ago from former Milton Hershey Students + the reports were never fully investigated. According to the court records, one former Milton Hershey Student said when he reported the crime to Derry Township Police + Milton Hershey School staff. He says they didn't believe him.
Charles Koons of Middletown is in prison for abusing at least 16 boys. Police say the molestation started in 2004. But, Dauphin County Assistant DA, Sean McCormack, says Koons could've been caught earlier. Court records show that 20 years ago, a Milton Hershey student fell victim to Koons' ways. He was just 8 at the time and says he wasn't the only one. Then, 9 years later he told his mother who told Derry Township Police and school officials. But it wasn't until 2008, that Koons was charged w molesting children, but not those at Milton Hershey. McCormack says that if Koons had been arrested 20 years ago for the alleged sex crimes at Milton Hershey, his other victims in Middletown may have been spared. "You never know. In a perfect world yes. You would say that yes if they were able to arrest him and convict him back in 1998, hopefully, none of the victims that had to deal with what they dealt with in 2000s would ever have been victimized," said Sean McCormack, Dauphin County Assistant District Attorney.
Derry Township Police were unavailable to explain why Koons wasn't arrested then + what happened w the Milton Hershey investigation.

Subtlety is Astonishing: The name of the school is right in our faces. The writing literally on the wall! HERSHEYS. Yet in this very good report, NO mention of the tie to the corporation. That's the culture of corporate protection we are brainwashed in: corporations are untouchable, they do this literally right in front of us, and sign their name too!
