we train back kick with bench like this.jumping down from bench makes muscle exentric contraction.

  • both legs are leaving ground so theres no support leg,its a jump back kick.

  • this is not the actual training ,, this is where the japanese top fighters gather and they have fun and exchange experience , so its not the actual training, and u are right about what u said.

  • there is no such thing as an effective fun training. it should be more vigorous if their training for competition. i understand if this is just for people wanting to learn this without the intent of competing.

  • it helps the supporting leg generate explosive power. it is a plyometric exercise.

    variety in training is important too. this is a fun drill that builds specific strength.

  • how does jumping over te bench help with your back kick?
