I meet Joanna Smith at Harpeth Hills G.C. back in early summer 2008. I have been teaching Joanna Smith and her cousin Kella Stephenson how to play golf. Bert Yancey taught me how to play golf for two years in Hilton Head S.C.

I told Joanna my clam to fame in the music business. When I as a young man worked for United Artists Records and how I would listen to music with Kelso Herston the producer in his office

Kelso would ask me what I thought of a country music song I just heard. I would tell Kelso I would not buy it. I ask Kelso how do you known if you have a hit. Kelso said you do not know. Kelso told me that he has listen to a song and did not like it. They would go down the road and the song would be a number one hit song. Kelso would be throwing up in the trash can.

One day I was up front flitting with the receptionist.

When a beautiful lady walked in, I said who is that?

They said, Bruce is she married. I said, that is the story of my life.

Three days later Kelso called me and told to go to the store and get a bottle of Beaujolais wine and bring it down to the Sound Shop Studio.

I walked in and asked where Kelso was and they said Bruce, Kelso, back is in the Studio.

I walked back and the door was closed. So I opened the door and there was the same beautiful lady I saw three days before. I stood there watching this beautiful lady sing.

After she got though sing Kelso turn his chair around and ask me what I thought of the song.

I told Kelso that I would tell it like it is.

Kelso said, I know Bruce. What do you think?

I said, Kelso, first she is beautiful, second, she got a voice that is out of this world, third, she had the charisma and fourth that a one hit song.

It was Crystal Gale sing Don't It Make My Brown Eyes Blue.

It went up and down Music Row that Bruce Crawford had the eye and the ear for music.

Joanna Smith will be next Super Star of Country Music.

I told Joanna I would steer it things up and make some phone calls. And I would get her a top record company to sign you.
