0-60 in the Maxima... a bit slower than it should be cause I kind of made a mess of the start. This is also with the Traction Control on. Right around 6.5 seconds if i'm counting right.

  • Automatic/triptronics are crap... cant people figure it out.

If you want to be lazy by letting your transmission do all the work, your going to be the one in the end paying the price.

Buy the 6speed manual and learn how to drive a clutch.

Problem solved, MT transmission will last for ever.

  • @hellzone100 I would have loved to have the 6speed, but i bought the car from my parents. Also, those are wicked hard to come by. Most people suck at driving stick in this country though, so they'll probably end up paying more for replacement clutches than a potential new tranny.

  • I have an 05 max with 43k miles and I've heard the trannies aren't so good so I'm a little worried. Have you ever had transmission problems?

  • @cash4life711 I've never had any issues with it... I just sold the car at 116,000 miles and it was still tight as a drum. The only thing I ever noticed with the tranny is that shifting from 2nd to 3rd was always a bit rough under normal driving conditions, but other than that I wouldn't be too worried. And those are crazy low miles!

  • Shift it over into manual mode the + and - and you might get a faster time, tac it out to around 6300 rmp and then shift, i have exact same car

  • @Catfishin93 I have a video of that too... I just have to remember to put it up one of these days.

  • The auto is ok if you change you tranny fluid every other oil change I got mine with 25k and I now have 93k (same tranny) . But I will soon be doing the 6speed swap . Also it helps if you let the car properly warm up .

  • @Hatinonthehaters Stop using a automatic and you wont ever have a transmission issue........ and don't say you CANT drive a MT.

  • @Hatinonthehaters Its unfortunate what happened to yours. Did you pay for a new tranny or sell the car?

  • @Hatinonthehaters Yeah my car has been due for a trans flush for a little while now and not sure whether or not i should get one. Just after buying the car I found all these complaints regarding the transmission, go figure haha. Countless stories about nissan not taking action and screwing people so fingers crossed mine doesn't crap out on me. Maxima.org has a long thread about a class action lawsuit that is apparently going on right now check it out. Hopefully nissan eventually pays for it

  • @CorvettePilotDude I know what you mean with the very slight jerk from 2nd to 3rd I experience that and thought it wasn't normal. Good to know I'm not the only one! I bought the car a few months ago with just 38k on the clock and it's been awesome so far, hopefully stays that way!

  • @cash4life711 I bought mine with 45k, at 60k, tranny went to shit. make sure to check your tranny fluid is of good color. Its a known issue about the tranny many many people have problems... nissan wont do shit about it. until someone starts a lawsuit.
