John Anderson my Jo is a poem by Robert Burns about a couple growing old. The wife remembers when her husband was young. She is remorseful that he is so old that he just stays in bed in the morning and wont come to bed at night.
She misses making love and would want to help him out in any way that she can.
It is said that Burns copies the tune from a bawdy song and most respectable performers when they sing it usually only do the first and last verses since they cover their initial meeting and their parting death so making a a poignant love song.
The Betty Boop cartoon was in the public domain and I liked the moves of the old man from the mountain. Looks like Michael Jackson learnt a few steps from him. Besides his hair was white as snow and it looked like he prefered dancing than going down the hill with Betty. That's old age for you.

I remember reading Betty Boop comic books and seeing her in cartoons back in the 1950s Ha! Ha! Ha! Her sound tracks didn't sound like this though...!!!

I didn't know Betty was such a minx. Would never have thought to put Burns to a drum beat, but it's very pleasing.
