impala is a sweet car i drive a 04 impala got it brand new it now has 209,000 miles only thing ever replaced was a $15.00 water pump and a fuel regulator and plugs and wires.best car i ever owned

I love when people buy a OLDER car and then come on here claiming how bad the car is. If you dont keep it serviced no matter the make it will break down. If you run cheap gas in it it will not run good. If your buying a used car and dont have it checked out by a REPUTABLE mechanic and not jimmy bob or your cousins boyfriends uncles son from a past marriage who works at best buy selling car stereos and thinks he knows cars then you are getting what you pay for! Ill take my GM vehicle over toyota!

@ndaguanno To update it was a bad mass air flow sensor, and it needed a new pressure control solenoid in the transmission, which causes the rough shifts once it heats up.

i would rather have a marauder, but i WOULD pick a 96 impala over that...these types of impalas are unappealing to me, they might be dependable...but really? a supercharged v6? GM went downhill by taking out the v8

@wootness3000 you aren't kidding we just got one was my great uncles car, when we got it the car was great had power no problems, got a few thousand miles on it and now it hesitates and engine light comes on from time to time sometimes its fine, be going to the mechanic to see if he can find anything wrong with it. Still a powerful car none the less gotta love the V6 3800 series 2 engine.
