Again, more Smoke-Free Illinois Act violations in the downtown Bloomington bar district at the same downtown bar. According to informed sources, two McLean County Bars have had their licenses suspended for SFIA violations. But none in the downtown. Why? When as you can see this is pretty much everyday violation type behavior caught on video and presented as evidence. But, EVERYONE seems to have an excuse NOT to take action against this particular bar, and they appear to do virtually everything to throw themselves under the bus to protect this particular establishment . WHY we ask?
How is it this particular bar gets what amounts to be outrageous shielding, as seen later in the video of what appears to be a man openly smoking right in front of two Bloomington Police officers. Hows that for shielding! How many other downtown Bloomington Businesses can get this type of protection while what appears to be openly breaking the law. Which is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of the supporting material that shows NO ONE is holding these bars accountable in downtown Bloomington.
These same administrators and law enforcement officials pretend the complaints do not exist. Tax revenue from tobacco and alcohol items sold in the bars are so important to these officials, that people breaking the law, damaging other peoples health appear to be far less important, that shielding this type of behavior and the establishments that allow it to happen to their patrons in order to increase tax revenue. Bloomington Illinois citizens deserve to be protected, these are your family members, friends and neighbors and this businesses customers. Its obvious this particular establishment does not seem to be looking out for them, nor the Bloomington police. They seem to be more interested looking out for the bar.
