One of the very last trains on this subdivision is the salvage train. They are heading north to collect ties and other material in the Cobden area, where miles of rail were lifted in the previous two weeks.

  • what is the horn of this locomotive ?

  • @lulocaltrem I don't know but I will try to find out!

  • I notice that some trains with 2 or more engines, the last engine will have the headlight facing the back of the train on, but with a lower light setting. why is that? Even when there arent any other cars on the train, the last engine will still have the headlights on at the back of it.

  • @TheWaynelds That's a good question but I don't know the answer. I seem to see it most frequently on work trains like this or on trains that have work to do en route.

  • @EasternOntarioTracks Out of tune K5LA

  • Love the video but it sure is a heartbreaker-Walter

  • @Railrodder Well, the story was that they were lifting four CWR trainloads of rail in 2011, and they did so in August and September. If there are plans for 2012 yet, no one's talking!

  • @EasternOntarioTracks To continue in the new year? Thanks for the info!

  • @Railrodder They have stopped at Renfrew... for the time being!

  • Are they near Carleton Place yet?
