  • It's interesting to see a heritage lounge car on this Lake Shore Limited. I have never seen a heritage lounge on that train before watching this video. Usually it is just an amfleet lounge. Good catch.

  • Is the last car an ex-PRR 3600-series lounge? I'm wondering because it looks like the old lounge cars that Pennsy ran on the Senator and Congressional.

  • I do not know.

  • And NOW the consist is this:

    1 Heritage Baggage (Boston)

    1 Viewliner (Boston)

    2 Amfleet II Coach (Boston)

    1 Horizon Fleet Café (Boston)

4 Amfleet II Coach (New York)

1 Amfleet II Café (New York)

    2 Viewliner (New York)

    1 Heritage Baggage (New York)

  • Sad to say that the only Heritage cars still on the Lake Shore are the baggage cars. As of last week, the last diner was taken off the train. Now, the consist is: P42 P42 Heritage baggage Viewliner Viewliner Viewliner Amfleet II Café Horizon Lounge Amfleet II Coach Amfleet II Coach Amfleet II Coach Amfleet II Coach
  • Also, Amtrak ran Heritage Slumbercoaches through '96 and 10/6 Sleepers through '97. The Heritage 10/6 Sleepers were rebuilt into Crew Dorms and retired in 2006.

  • If you search Amtrak#448, you'll see a few Heritage coaches on the LSL. Up through 94, Amtrak would run Heritage cars quite often. However, when the Superliner IIs arrived and freed up extra Amfleets, Amtrak stopped running Heritage cars. Occasionally, a Heritage car would turn up if there weren't enough Amfleets in New York or Chicago.

  • I think it is. It looks like one of the cars that ended up running on the Adirondack in the nineties.

  • god! your all over!!!
