How to render HD in sony vegas
How to render HD in sony vegas
How to render HD in sony vegas

In this Tutorial, I will be Showing you How to render in HD.
There are 2 HD choices to Choose.
1st, The FULL HD which is 1080p or 1080i
2nd, Which is 720p or 720i.

The Most important thing is to know your Camera settings
By knowing Your camera settings,
you will be able to know what you are doing.

You must know what Frame size it's filming,
What Frame Rate it's being filmed,
How much Bitrate per second.

It doesn't matter what video format you are suppose to render
What matter is to Match what you are after.

BitRate Depends the Quality and Size.
Bigger = Better quality, Bigger Size
Smaller = Good Quality, Smaller Size

For 720p Video Renderings,
I would Suggest Not going under 4MB/s

For 1080p Video Renderings,
I would Suggest Not going under 6MB/s

Especially for DSLR videos
Which is really high-megapixel,
You would like to stay with High megapixel to maintain Quality
It all depends what dslr your shooting with

for 7D, 550D(T2i), 60D
Maximum Bit rate would be 45,000,000M

BEST TIP
The Best Tip I could give is to Keep trying
Wheather its mp4, mov, avi, wmv, etc...
Try Different Bitrates
Find what fits you the Best.

If you understand the Basics
You can be better! :)

Hope you enjoy this tutorial
and Learned something out of it

  • I have problem , i use Vegas pro 10 , but the when i put 45 million bit rate its change to 192 000 when i write more than 20 000 000 bitrate...

  • @0SxK0 Maybe because you've putted a value that's bigger than maximum at the minimum. Check again. Maximum must be higher than Minimum if you're rendering VBR.

  • How can i render my video on HD but film size, can you help me?

  • @actrecord Please watch the video I made called "Understanding rendering"

  • mine was 15 min of killing floor and its rendered in these settings, and it rendered as 70 gb!!!!!!. I use fraps to record, and the trial version of this to render. so far i am not convinced this is good software pls help! Im getting really pissed off cause i hav a decent fan base waiting for vids..PLS HELP :)

  • @RYOsmizHI4 You don't have to render uncompressed all the time. you only render uncompressed when you need to render portions of video for transfer with other workstations for edits because that is the only way to keep the quality. but when rendering for final output, you always need to compress the video. Stick with presets first and get used with rendering.

  • I have sony vegas 7. I'm not sure if thats the problem, but i did as much the same as you instructed in the video as I could. I filmed with a GoPro HD Hero 2. The bit rate wouldn't go over 1,400,000.... that could be why. But whenever I put the videos onto sony vegas, they come out with MUCH worse quality than the way they had started out.

  • I did this, and my computer couldn't handle such a setting. So I went back to change it to the original settings and now my audio has this weird static-y sound and its really annoying. I've tried to fix it. Nothing so far has worked :( I have Sony Vegas Pro 10

  • what settings should I use to render for offline projects?... can't find it anywere! Like I have a big lcd and with usb.

    Hope to hear from you!
