@yarrielle rob thomas' wife has lupus. depression is part of it. but this song is definitely just for the lupus. most ppl don't understand what it is like to have it. very painful, very scary. it's literally your body trying to destroy it's own organs. they have a special charity set up for research to find a cure. since there is no cure now. i have lupus and this song pretty much describes it, when nothing else does. it's extremely painful and hard to deal with. this song is dedicated to her.

Unless America dumbs down into complete ideocracy, Rob Thomas deserves to be in the Songwriter's Hall of Fame. He has a way of telling a story with metaphor, and he hooks you in lyrically and rhythmically. ....and then there is intelligent content which is missing from a lot of music today. Its beautiful, thoughtful, intelligent, well crafted music. Its also moving. Perfect.

i just found out i don't have lupus. i have fibromyalgia instead. i have dealt with the pain from this for years, so i'm used to it. this song definitely goes to any immune disease. i feel like a death sentence has been lifted and i continue to pray for others that have lupus or worse. so now i will "be alright, just not tonight!"

I lost a beautiful cousin to lupus..it was so painful to watch but not even close to what she endured,Such an unfair and senseless disease

@ThornWWhite yeah well add on the stress of highschool and thats one major boiling pot : ) but in all seriousness i still suffer from occasional bouts of depression and extreme sadness. the pain is mostly because i cant take medicine for anything, not even pain meds! but even through all this i still try to keep a happy demeanor, but hey when you know you can die very quickly what else are you gonna do right haha! i hope that you feel better and i completely understand where your coming from.

I love this song.It shows that the loved ones suffer along with you, when you have an autoimmune disease.I have Crohn's Disease,Arthritis of the spine & Fibromyalgia.I'm on medications that reduce my immunity.Humira & Prednisone.I take Imuran to raise my immunity a little.No one can understand how much you suffer with autoimmune disorders,unless they've had it themselves.The flare-ups can make you wish for death.I've seen the looks on my sons faces when I suffer.I know they are suffering too.

Your only sixteen & I thought I was too young to get autoimmune diseases at 31.I feel for you.Being a teenager is difficult enough.I know both of my sons are teenagers.They know they may inherit autoimmune diseases from me.I know they still need me so I try to put on a happy face when they see me & I hide when I cry.I know they are hurting as much as I am emotionally.Most autoimmune disease facts don't state that you're in constant pain & deeply depressed.
