Fast wrestling means to throw as soon as you touch. In most shuai chioa two guys take their grip on each other and move each other around fifghting for position /advantage. Fast wrestling is more like what you see in san shou when there is a 2 second cliching rule. It's also applicable to some self defense situations. Of course the throws are the same, it's the strategy, set ups and chosen oportunities that differ. That's why they call it fast "wrestling' not fast "throwing"!
Do you think Shuaijiao fighters are trying to throw someone as quickly as possible or are just dancing around?
Sure we fight for position, but that is because if we try to throw with out a decent grip or position... we waste energy at best, and end up on our heads at worst.
Yes I know all this.I've done shuai chiao for over 30 years. As Master Liang said Fast wrestling is a sub catogory of shuai chiao. He explained what it meant and you attacked his comment.
People from Bao Ding are famous for Kuai Jiao (Fast Shuai Jiao). Chang Dong Sheng was one such famous master. His brothers were also very famous. There are other 3 famous styles in addition to Bao Ding style: Beijing, Tianjin, which famous for arms movement and punches, and Mongol style.
