The New Overland now averages 80km/hr between Adelaide & Melbourne which is good considering that the ROAD is still B-Grade by comparision with World Standards. The Passenger Train shares the ROAD with very heavy freighters which can cause delays if not major wear & tear on infrastructure.Successive Australian and State Governments have still not addressed this problem...all we get is a token gesture at best.
