Edit: I should have stated in the video somewhere that I do actually understand a lot more of the symbolizem then I give the impression of. :End edit

This is my first review ever so I do apologize for being a bit stiff and for any minor errors. As well as the poor quaility, I will see what I can do for future reviews. This is only part 1 and part 2 will be uploaded in about 2 weeks from today, and I will try to keep posting reviews about every 2 weeks.

Tips and advice to improve future reviews are welcomed, just don't be a jerk please :)

  • I think when hearing this review its obvious that you need to watch the anime before - which I think its the point of the film. If you know the story before watching this you know what you're in for.

  • @greenappletea123 One, I fully admit this review is serieously lacking, but I do believe "homework" shouldn't be needed to watch and enjoy any movie regardless of it's medium or origin. Also it is my own fault for not making clear anywhere that I actually understand A LOT more then I let on in my review. I did in fact research to try to understand this movie and got a lot of the symbolic meanings while watching. Thanks for taking the time to watch and to comment.

  • i admire this as a first effort, but i think you're being a little narrow-minded about the film. If its goal was to make sense to the audience, I don't think the result would be something so stylized and psychologically delicious as what you're watching :)

  • you have one of the most annoying voices I've ever heard

  • @loopyprincessyo123 Agreed, it's made to be very psychological. Like Evangelion, there are many symbolic moments, so many in fact that you can't even catch them all in one sitting. You have to watch it again and again, and every time, you see something new. Granted, Evangelion the series isn't that bad, but the movies are. The movies are great to compare Utena's movie to because both use symbolic imagery to help you read between the lines of the story.

  • This movie is made more for people that have seen the series...and even then, parts of it are confusing! lol
