Painful first step to Africa Volunteering | Record breaking 7 shots!

So here is the first piece of my Africa trip. This involves going to get my vaccines for the trip and I had to get 7 shots plus a trip to the pharmacy to get my Typhoid and anti-malarial meds (another 100$). The office said that I had set a record as "most shots given at one time to one person."

I had to get 7 shots and fill 4 prescriptions cause I was going to volunteer in a 3rd world country where there are serious outbreaks of disease. I had to do it for my safety and to be able to go on the trip and enter these areas. Yes it hurt, a lot. I dont do shots well. All of the reactions and responses you see are real. I got them all at once cause i was not going to go back for more. :) One shot at doing this!> :)

been to Kenya in 2009 and had to do the same thing, it felt like a million shots, hep A, hep B, Dtap, yellow fever and typhoid fever shots all at once. go to africa once its life changing, cant wait to go back

wow im in 6th grade and my best friend had to get these for her and her family because she went to africa this summer.

I always ask them to count.. one reason is I don't have any peripheral to see that area, and another is I don't want to see it. lol So I ask them coount 1 2 3 and it doesn't surprise me so bad.:o() Shots are scary!!!
