My Mk12 clone is zeroed for my 77gr reloads but I'll sometimes shoot a box or two of xm855 here and there. At such a close range there's almost no difference, maybe half a inch at most, not big enough of a difference to notice because of the less accurate commercial ammunition.

I'd be interested to see the change of point of impact with the standard M855 round versus that 77 grs. boattail bullet at 100 yards with the rifle zero'ed for the latter.

55grain 5.56mm will still be useable in a mark12 but it won't be capable of sniper function.

The thing they fail to mention about using other ammo is that it will not perform. The Mk12 is built around that 77grn bullet. You grab your buddies standard 55grn and the performance just isn't there. That barrel wants to eat 77grn.
