ATTENTION: If you only clicked this video for the action alone, you may not understand anything at all, but skip to 2:55.
(There is no action up until that point. Only conversations building up the storyline.)

FINALLY. It is here! The long awaited, FLANK.

WAIT! You have a question? Well check out the making of: FLANK. Where I explain alot about myself and how i made FLANK!

I've been working on this for about, the last 2 months or so. It started out as just a short little action video, but I wanted to bring
a little bit more of a storyline in. (To draw that line between "action video" and short action film.)
This was my first big project/film to do. So there are some things I could've done better I admit... But I'm learning, it's just about trial and error
right now. I'd have to say I'm still satisfied with the outcome of the video.

I'm a 15 year old independent film maker (This was my first film) And I've never taken any type of film/editing class. (Or had any training for that matter) Youtube is my teacher. :D

This was shot entirely on the Canon T2i. With the 18-55mm lens.

Sorry if any of the dialog is hard to hear... I used an $8 lapel mic for all the dialog!

I'm not very happy I had to use copyrighted music (Linkin park's song - When they come for me) but it was just too amazing to not use.

Total shooting time: 12 hours. Total editing time: About 60 hours.

I'd have to say my inspiration for this film, was definitely Freddiew and CorridorDigital. They both put out some pretty sick action videos.
And I got SO much from their videos. I honestly just hope I was able to separate myself and not look too much like I just mimicked what
they did.

I'm not going to say too much here, because I said basically everything I needed to, in the making of (Behind the scenes), video here:

  • wow!! that was really good, I really liked the slo mo. Thumbs up fer sure! We hav a bunch of vids that use adobe ae and action essentials. If you could check them out that would be awesome. Were just looking to get discovered. lol

  • @EncoreFilmStudio Aren't we all. ;)

  • u made the oh so common mistake of adding way too much blue to the image.

  • @xxbluejay21 Yea, I know. :( Unfortunately I made many more mistakes than just that... Which won't happen anymore. :D

  • Hi, what kind of memory card are you using. My card is 8gb and is class 6. When I put the video on the computer, it is all juttery. I was wondering if this is caused from the card.

  • @Lachlan1480 I just found out this problem recently.. It's because either your video card's graphics drivers isn't up to date.. Or you just have an old video card. Google how to update your graphics driver and that should do it for you.

  • I like some of the slow motion. A little bit more time blending the muzzle flares would be good. Nice job on the slow motion pull out of the pistol there at the end. Check out some of my videos and let me know what you think.

  • very well done video.

i will be subscribing if you'd like to know.

id love it if you could take a look at some of our films.

    thanks man, best of luck

  • This PROVES that the kit lens is all you need to make a bitchin' movie. No need to spend hundreds, thousands, to buy fancy lens. (although I do recommend the 50MM), great for C U s.)

  • AMAZING! haha that was pretty epic! im starting to make some so check me out!

  • You guys should have added some blood holes.

  • hey can you give me some pointers on how you made this film ? I am 14 this year and I really wish to make a short action film too ...

  • dude this is so ballsy! I work with a t2i as well and for this being your first film, KEEP IT UP! This is insane!
