Knife Wielding Student Disarmed by Friends

A Bloomsburg University student caused quite the disturbance on Chestnut Avenue in the area of East Third Street early Sunday around 2:45 AM. Surveillance video shows the man with a knife in his hand walking away from a group of friends near Anthony Avenue.

The three other men shown in the video are able to disarm the man who appeared to be making threats to himself and others in the neighborhood near East Third Street.
The friends left the man after he no longer had the knife. The man then walked in the middle of East Third Street in the attempt of being hit by a car.

The man finally walks north towards the Bloomsburg Police station on Chestnut Avenue. Around the same time a call to Columbia County 911 came into police about the disturbance with a description of the man.

Police encountered the man in front of the Ambulance hall on Second Street. The man put up some resistance and was hit with pepper spray and three different tasers before going down according to police. The student was taken to Bloomsburg Hospital for evaluation and will be facing several charges.
