Religion is The Great Hijacker Part 11 After-life
Eternal nothingness is fine if you happen to be dressed for it.
Woody Allen
Of all of humanity's realisations, none could be more important than knowing that there is an after-life. And that that after-life is...death. Understanding this one simple fact alone would help transform our human existence into something that we could be proud to leave to our children. Without it, we condemn them to a half-life. A mere waiting-room existence.
We are brought up to believe that "one day" all the confusions will be iron-out and all imbalances redressed; that all hidden mysteries will be resolved and all unanswered questions answered. But we are much, much more likely to experience these moments of revelation and clarity after a good night's sleep rather than a good life's sleep! And knowing this stops us from closing our eyes to the ever-present and never-to-depart reality that our transient existence keeps telling us: there is only so much we can ever do. Some things can be made certain in this life, but we don't bother, whilst other things will never be certain and we fool ourselves that one day they will be made certain. Living honestly with the discomfort of uncertainty and complexity in this life is far better, far more mature than numbing ourselves to reality in the childish anticipation of divine arbitration and resolution in a fantasy 'here-after'.
This is the only life you have. It might be a good idea simply to "Deal with it!"

Please sign this petition against Sharia Law:
"We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to Stop Sharia Law from being binding in law under arbitration tribunals rules.
Sharia law can be enforced in this country by the county and high courts. This is allowed under rules of arbitration when both parties in the dispute agree to give the tribunal (in this case a Sharia court) the power to rule on the case. We state that this should be stopped, as sharia law is totally contrary to western values of fair and equal justice for all."

I have often found myself pondering and arguing that an eternity of anything, as incomprehensible as it is, would most certainly become the most unendurable torture regardless of how blissfully pleasing it may be for the first 500 trilion centuries...

You see this near death thing is a little like UFO abduction... If I found myself on an alien spacecraft I know for a fact nobody would believe me afterward. To PROVE what I had experienced... even to myself later... I would steal something... or at least try to... or try to gain knowledge that I could get in no other way.
However I have noticed that not a single near death experience give the person who experiences it any knowledge in the form of evidence that the event took place!

"I had a heart attack and seen heaven"
two questions... If you had seen nothing at all... (a little like nights where you can't remember anything and wake up the next morning unaware of anything you thought when asleep) Would that have had the effect of confirming there was no afterlife?
Second... If during this vision it was not heaven but simply an endless desert with light but not even a sun.... that stretched to infinity..and there was ONLY you there... what effect would this have had?

This is why I say that we have only discovered a portion of the universe. I quote in Armageddon, "It's a big ass sky." We cannot deny the existence of the afterlife just yet. No one, I do mean no one living truly knows if there is life after death, not even scientists.

No, not eternity. The bible only promisses 1000 years... lol

Isn't the point of dying to be dead, not to live a second time in a fantasy world?

Not arguing- but we wouldn't need the scientific researcher if we would eat the right food. It's the crap food that causes people to do messed up things like child abuse. Once again- it's all about the food. Love this video though. :) Thanks

Exactly- we make our lives HERE Heaven or Hell...our choice, If we really fancied this life, we would eat the kind of food that would keep us here and living healthy for the longest amount of time. Look up Markus Rothkranz. :)
