How does a Jew fulfilling what he thinks (and I do) is a requirement before his deity, which harms no one in no way whatsoever: how does that affect your life at all. Beautiful! Very spiritual. That is why I am converting to Judaism. I was raised a christian; have studied all religions and I have found that the Jewish faith has given me more meaning in life and a much bigger connection to our GOD.

Teffilin is one of the 613 mitzvos(commandments) which means that Jewish men have to do it. Which also means that we need the Talmud inorder to know how to do it properly.
