Modern entertainers have forgotten how to entertain. In fact, the very word, "Entertainment," has become a bad word.

for this act alnoe i'm sure they had worked hard for a long time before they created it, mastered it, perfected it, and presented it to their audiance. how hard do entertainers today work? and before they work, how talented are they?

Some well-meaning commentators here are not thinking about the demands of television vs. vaudeville. Vaudevillians could do the same seven minute act tens of thousands of times over ten or twenty or more years. Not so simple to keep the TV furnaces fed.

Yeah im sure people these days would love to see this kind of entertainment, charged at $60 a ticket...
Entertainment is a paradigm, it changes with culture, the same way our perceptions of human beauty have changed over time and continue to.
its evolution, get over it.

Ah Bessie Love...If you haven't seen it, go check out Broadway Melody Of 1929, it won an Oscar for best film that year! Sadly, Anita Page, Love's co-star, just passed away not too long ago.
