Millennium Project, Athlete's Village for 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver has been discovered to have left out critical insulation on the hot & cold water pipes. Workers are now tearing down walls at the site to wrap water pipes that should have been insulated before the drywall was put up.


Near Record Real Estate Sales in June

June brought near record Real Estate sales in the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver's area but is it sustainable?

Sales increased 75.6 per cent in June 2009 to 4,259, from the 2,425 sales recorded in June 2008. The figure is just short of the record-breaking 4,333 sales which occurred in June 2005.

The REBGV includes Vancouver, North Vancouver, West Vancouver, Burnaby, New Westminster, Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, Maple Ridge, Richmond, Ladner, Tsawwassen, Sunshine Coast and Squamish.




Record Low Interest Rates, A Good Thing?

Interest rates remain low due to the efforts of the Bank of Canada, is this a good thing? In an effort to stimulate the economy the Bank of Canada has lowered their rates to an all time low.

The Bank of Canada official role "promote the economic and financial well-being of Canada". Their primary focus is to keep inflation between 1 - 3%.

Are they doing the right thing?
