@mrlandby In 20 years you won't need them :)

@griller506 You'd have to be able to print all the genes, DNA, etc... much more complex than a wrench. Get it wrong, and it won't grow or the body will reject it.

@JoeyVigil109329 I'm pretty sure it scans more than just the surface, more like a scan/x-ray combo, so it would be able to see the size of the shaft for the worm gear. -Just a guess, but I don't know how else it could do that.

OOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUSSSSSSSS!! -
@griller506 they have medical 3D printing, with organs and such. the problem is that you're talking about organic material, which adds 871658531x more complexity, so it's still a prototype. check out ted.com and you'll find stuff on it.

@griller506 Biologists can already take cells from your body and grow artificial bladders with your DNA. Next are livers and kidneys. Then eventually Hearts and Bone.

@griller506 They actually do use a 3D printer to make parts and valves for humans... It's still evolving from a child like state.
In 20 years I'll be illegally downloading rocket launchers.

Why can't something like this be used in the hospital's for people who have bone disease so the old bones can be removed and new stronger ones could be placed back.
