Answering a question concerning being short, english as a second language, going infantry, recruiters "lying," no family or support network, exercise.

(And again, I recommend the "Blood Type Diet." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blood_type_diet to ensure best health and handlig )

  • If your about to take the ASVAB, take it with a national guard recruiter, not an Active Duty 1. If you scor low, active duty recruiter will just say "ole well you only qualify for a few jobs" but a NG recruiter will allow you to retest until you get the score needed for your prefered job(MOS).

  • @BRANDON85L And you can decide to go Active Duty later on, too. Good heads up. ;)

  • Some of the stuff that goes on at basic makes it pretty much a weird fraternity without beer.

  • @JoshPahr *chuckles* Yep.

  • @Darusdei I was 17 at the time of enlistment. My only regret is that I didn't enlist the day I turned 17. Though, I went through A LOT of changes on my opinion of the military before I was sure It was what I was going to do. The first time I got a call from a recruiter 3 days after turning 17, at the time I was positive there was no way in hell I'd ever be in the military. Hell I was scared to answer the phone after that without caller I.D. Weird how things change lol.

  • @goarmy979 I'm five seven, so don't sweat it. If you're taller, that means you can weigh a little more than I can. My weight can't be higher than 181 lbs. If you do exceed weight, you get measured around the waist and neck to get a better idea it's your too heavy. I weighed in at 181 pounds on the dot, talk about close call.
