2010 holds many exciting possibilities for my little Quarter Horse mare, Clue.

This video highlights our progress since her return from Daisy Haven Farm in the summer of 2008 to December of 2009. We basically had to start from the ground up, and now we are doing things I never thought we'd do again. Clue never ceases to amaze me. Although I've been blessed with the opportunity to work with very supportive and knowledgeable professionals, the most essential element is a horse who wants to return to a working lifestyle. She has come back stronger and faster, but she's retained the spirit and character that made me fall in love with her when she first became mine. Though she can be one fiery little mare, it's just a reflection of the sharp intellect she possesses. She expects me to do my job just as well as she does hers, and she's not afraid to call me on it when she feels I'm not up to par. I'm a better person and rider for it. I cannot even begin to express how proud I am of her.

I know many of you have been wondering where we've been and what we've been up to. My job has kept me very busy since I returned at the end of the summer, and I've not had time to update my Youtube account. I really appreciate those of you who have inquired about the horses and my health. We're all doing great. My ankle is basically back to normal--it gets a little sore now and then with the cold, damp weather of winter, but it actually seems to benefit from workouts and riding. I was back to riding about two weeks after I broke it (with the orthopedic surgeon's blessing, believe it or not!). Hopefully, I'll have time to add more videos soon; they will probably be more compilation videos in the hopes of getting caught up to more recent history. :)

Thank you to all of you who take the time to watch these videos and comment. Those of you who have been so supportive as you've followed Clue's story have truly touched me with your kindness and well wishes. Her persistence and spirit continue to inspire me.

  • what a cute horse :D Why is her tail so short, just curious

  • @BabaaNii The early clips are from a long time ago...long story short, while in a paddock where I first ever boarded her out in Pennsylvania (back in 2005/6), another mare pulled her tail SO hard she actually SCALPED part of her tail. She had dead skin hanging off. By the time all the dead/damaged tissue was removed, she was left with half a tail. By some miracle of God, the damaged tissue healed well and started growing hair again. If you check out our recent videos, she has a "real" tail.

  • Look at her rear up playing and land on those legs!!! How great is that!!!!!!!

  • @horsejudge27 Amen! :)
