I remember getting this ending in CvS PRO when I was younger and was fucking freaking out for 3 reasons.
1. It was 3:30 in the morning and I was half asleep.
2. I thought I was gonna have to fight a stronger version of Shin Akuma. (hence the freaking out)
3. The closeup shot of his face scared the shit out of me. 5 STARS*****

i remember playing this at the arcades for the first time, i was iori and guile. some high school kids were standing behind me watching. i got to mbison who i thought was the last boss. out of nowhere he gets demon'd by regular akuma. o shit! the crowd goes wild!
i beat that game on one quarter that day. today i cant even beat the first guy in 3rd striker or sf4. for shame...

@Sesshoumaru888 although my Japanese is a bit rusty but I know for sure this sign has nothing to do with demons actually it's the opposite. and I asked elder japanese people about it and they all told me it's a sign of good thing. of course what you put it but it could mean heaven, sky or somthing godly. I guess they wanted to show Gouki as the god of the fist or somthing. but then he would be the good type of god not the one who take lives. as I said it doesn't make sense.

@xxkazuyamishimaxx I see what you mean. Thing is, Gouki doesn't divide things into good or bad, this kind of philosophy is present even in the everyday (real) life and is used by each human in a certain way. I checked something now, and a guy on a forum told that Gouki's sign may also mean "immortality, invincibilty, Beyond the limits, Beyond the human power" another guy said "it is a Kanji, it represents the 108 demons around the earth", of course I don't know these guys' sources

@Sesshoumaru888 yeah. after reading about him I kinda figured that out. but his Kanji sign doesn't make any sense. the sign has always been used for good things. even if you don't want to consider Gouki as evil!! you got to admit he is pretty dark he is not even anti-hero type. anyway the sign just don't fit i never got it.

@xxkazuyamishimaxx Gouki (I like to call him by his real name) developed a lust to fight to the death after being crushed by Satsui No Hadou, but only with someone who is as strong as he is (or much stronger) Somebody may consider Gouki of being evil, and that's not surprising since he killed his master Goutetsu and tried to kill his older brother Gouken. Killing weak fighters means nothing to him because they are not a challange for him

aw fuck a wall of text above D:>

Akuma is more of a warrior born in the wrong era, entrenched in tradition that belonged to an age where killing was a part of daily life. To that end, he searches the world for similar warriors, seeking a similar end. Death in honorable combat.

Their master, Gotetsu, taught the brothers the original form and style which was meant for killing. Gouki, who will later be known as the Akuma, embraced it. To succeed as master of their style, the student must slay the master with the Shun Goku Satsu. Gouken renounced the act of killing, modifying their Martial Art from it's brutal origins. Gouki succeeded Gotetsu, but could not defeat Gouken.
Gouki left to train by fighting (and killing), returning to defeat his brother.

@Invincnerd oh! I gree with you. but this make me wonder why did he kill his master and brother then?? he could have just beat them up and just win the fight why go all the way to kill them. anyway I would describe him as evil god . see you know he is up to no good yet you have to respect him.

@xxkazuyamishimaxx DnD alignment for Akuma would likely be Chaotic Neutral. Other than winning his fights, Akuma does not desire to inflict upon anyone else needless pain and suffering. He just likes to win his fights his way.
When confronted with actual villains the likes of Bison and Gill, both want to conquer the world through acts of abduction, sabotage and otherworldly means, Akuma didn't hesitate to Shun Goku Satsu them straight off the bat because he just doesn't like it.
I was never a big fan of Street Fighter but after watching Akuma. I am very interested in this game. I have googeled Akuma but there are so many things never mentioned. Like why he has Haven written on his back. And what’s up with the souls are they his fallen enemies or something?? And why he doesn’t kill weak fighters? I would really appreciate it if someone would explain it to me or point a website that has more info about him.

@xxkazuyamishimaxx The symbol doesn't just mean heavenly, it also means"Unearthly" which is more befitting his strength. He doesn't love killing, he just aims to win by any means against strong opponents. He doesn't care to kill so long as he wins, he's a merciless warrior, but he doesn't have a need to finish off opponents after they are already beaten. As for souls, The souls are an artistic liberty from one of the anime movies. Google "Akuma Wikia" Should give you all thei nfo you need.

@vguyver2 thank you very much. I did Wiki. Akuma since I saw accidently one of his tributes. but there wasn't much about him. anyway I am very intersted in his character cause he doesn't want to be famous doesn't want to be rich doesn't want to take over!!! yet he defeats everybody and almost kills everyone in his way. one more question. how does he get in to the fight?like someone would just challenge him?? or he stalk and hunt the strongest?? or what??
xxkazuyamishimaxx 1 year ago
@xxkazuyamishimaxx oh you're welcome. As for how he challenges and viceversa, it's pretty much him stalking and hunting down the strongest fighters. Akuma himself is at times hunted by other fighters wanting to challenge him or gain his power, such as Gen and Adon respectively. If he's willing to kill anyone who would get in the way of the fight, such as M.Bison who was about to fight Ryu, Akuma killed him to make sure no one would interfere in a fight between himself and Ryu.

@vguyver2 see. very intersting so that's why they always show him hiding in the dark. so he kills the strong ones and leave the week ones in the shame of defeat?? I apologize but i keep buging you with all my questions ...lol I wonder what happen if just a normal fighter chalenge him?would he just defeat him that easy or ignore him?cause so far he only has fought the bosses and the strong fighters.

@xxkazuyamishimaxx He'll mostly ignoe weak fighters, but he will put them in his place. Then again, if he fights a weak warrior and thiks he can become strong, he'll just ditch the guy and fight him/her later when they've become stronger.
