Tie Break Pt.1

This is the first part of a roughly 10 minute short film , filmed in early May 2003 at the Sword hotel in Stirling and other various locations around the Stirling area.
It was entered into Scottish Screen's new short films competition that year which we attended in Dundee.
The film revolves around Shane, a young man who's life is turned upside sown when his Quiz Team captaincy is usurped by team member Jack who demands pub Quiz domination at all costs.
But Shane doesn't take being kicked out of his beloved pub quiz team lightly and decides to fight back in the only way he knows how.......via superior general knowledge.
This is the second project produced by the doomed McLean/Fleming directorial partnership after their original triumph 'Cake Fear'.
Tie Break was marred by off screen labour disputes : actors falling out: a near fatal incident involving crew member Caragh and a falling lighting stand : Ravi's acting shortcomings and Dave Cassidy's complete lack of interest.
The hotel we filmed in has tragically since been demolished. May this short film live on as a testament to it's greatness.
