Here are a few video clips I took during September 2006 at the Grizzly Creek Redwood State Park in northwest California just outside Eureka. This was a nice place to camp and go for an early morning stroll. Only thing I didn't like was that it was pretty close to the two lane going thru the forest. Little noisy at times. Nothing a couple brews couldn't cure however. Here is some trivia I recently discovered. The steadycam shots for the speeder bike sequences in one of the Star Wars movies were filmed at Owen Cheatham grove in Grizzly Creek Redwoods State Park.

  • Sweet, i live right by the park

  • Your lucky. I would like to be able to see these tree's whenever I wanted. Many of them I've been told are thousands of years old. Some of the oldest living things on earth. I was really impressed. It felt kind of ominous in a way. Being around them. It may sound corny to some but I felt honored being in their presence. They were hanging before Jesus Christ was watching the sun come up in the morning.

  • I was waiting for Bigfoot to pop out of the bushes lol

  • "somewhere up there it ends" ............. idk, are you sure? lol

Actually, very beautiful, thanks for posting! 5* and put it in my travel playlist.

  • Since you enjoy the redwoods, check out some images on a redwood page about the largest known redwoods. GOOGLE THIS:

mdvaden + Grove of Titans Redwoods

Look for "mdvaden" in the URL at the top of the search results. I built the page because images online of those trees were too few and hard to come by.

  • I have seen these awesome trees and I feel like the others that visit there, they are hushed and lush and we do feel honored to be in their presence. I am thankful for places like this that we are privileged to visit. Thanks for posting this and I think I will subscribe to you and see what else you can show me about the outdoors and natures beauty.

  • Grizzly Creek is on the list of State Park Closures. Write to the Governor and save this park. I have started a group called "Save California's State Parks" if you would like to join.

  • yeah it is really kool, im looking at the same trees right now, and yes they are thousands of years old. acually we had a wind storm about 2 years ago maybe, and it took down lots and lots of the trees in the midle because they were not strong enouph to with stand the wind.
