(Sacramento) -- Assemblymember Tony Mendoza (D-Norwalk) was interviewed recently by the news program Time Warner Cable Local Edition. During the interview Assemblymember Mendoza was asked about a law he authored in 2007 (Assembly Bill 1291) that allows judges to send the parents of a juvenile convicted of a crime to parenting classes. Assemblymember Mendoza says the curriculum for the parenting classes has now been developed and it will be implemented in the Los Angeles Unified School District this fall. The classes are designed to give parents the tools they need to keep their children from committing more serious crimes. Here's more in this Assembly Assets video.
