Mac OS X 10.5.6 vs Windows Vista: Who is booting up faster?

In May, i post a video that compare boot time between Mac OS X and Windows XP. Windows Vista, after SP1, became more impressive. Windows Vista SP1 increase the compatibility and stability. Window Vista SP1 also boot and response much faster. Therefore, i decided to make a other booting up comparison test. In the round #1 and round #3, i start off with the booting up menu, this is fair to both OS, since we do not want count the BOIS(PC)/EFI(macbook)starting time. But in round #2 i add BIOS/EFI starting.

lol... i don't have iMac, iMac is way to expensive to me. The base model in Canada is like 1400+taxes. The macbook costs me about 1300 included tax, and i spent all my money. Student can't afford iMac, unless parents help them. LOL, i already got a 7200rpm hard disk.... So i should be fair for both computer.

You know... its very much about your free disk space... I dont know how MAC, but longer I hae VISTA, they working slower and slower... until reinstal

it is true for every operating system. Does not matter Widows or Mac OS X. That is why i indicated that both OS are fresh installed.

why buy a pc when mac runs both operating systems? use windows for games, and mac for everything else.

my macbook has intel integrated graphic card, can't play any games on Macbook... also, get a PC for linux, since i am in computer science major, some courses need linux...

i would assume 5400 for the macbook and 7200 for the desktop

Don't compare different machines, if this is to be a fair test you need to install windows on your macbook.

You cant compare a laptop against a desktop.

Laptops are designed for lower power consumption than desktops and have to be designed to get rid of heat in a small space. They also suffer from much slower hard disks in comparison to full blown desktops.

This is not a good comparison regardless of the OS under test.

Comparisons should be made on equivalent hardware. Bootcamp your mac if you want realistic comparisons.

Now how come my copy of vista wont boot up that fast? Hopefully, windows 7 will address that.

the thing with a mac is when it turns on you don't have to wait for everything to start but on a p.c. you have to wait a good 5-10 minutes waiting for it to connect to the internet and when windows turns on the first 5-10 minutes everything runs slow. on a mac it starts working right away.
