@juggernautxtr Really, you think that I AM an idiot ha? Nice, a 40 year old that still resorts to name calling! Well you are the one without a clue on the subject of water if you think this is a.....and I quote "STEAM ENGINE". Wow, grow up! You obviously know nothing about atomic physics buddy.

I will QuoteStan Meyers god rest his soul. ( KISS KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID) That is his subliminal message to us inventors . Every time i think more complex desigs, it is the simpler and cheaper options that seem to give better results.

@Brosko81918 I'm always poor so can't build anything yet, but I figured this out reading details years ago. It's a 5ns mosfet making a 20ms pump z with a variable gap from 20 to 100ms. Voltage is ridiculous high at 30kv, can't recall what the amps were but just guess based on the spark gap between anode and electrode. Hard part? Finding that mosfet, nobody seems to make one because of this patent! It's diamond coated, but hey that's easy to do nowdays.

@mikefromspace electrons
In the early days of laser we used a Thyratron to trigger the strobe pump. We had not developed the gas cw laser yet and only had ruby rods to play with. A Thyratron is nothing more than a triode tube basicaly with a small amount of radio active gas in it. We were switching a 10kv and higher supply at 500 to 10k amp. Back in the days of BIG electrons,early 70's. What fun huh?
I cracked a bunch of 1" ruby rods.
