I first heard this poem Topography by Sharon Olds in November 2002 while living in Cheyenne Wyoming. I was alone at that time in my life. Heard it while driving to work across wide open plains with an enormous Wyoming sky. I had to pull over on the side of the highway to listen. I started to cry because it was so beautiful.
