@vanislander39 No need to parboil... simply cooking them thoroughly will do the trick.
They make a wonderful substitute for pasta.

They are much larger than what I typically find. I am reluctant to try them..parboiling twice before cooking to remove toxins isn't something I am prepared to do. It sounds like they are delicious as well. I will make do with the plethora of other fungi.

Yes they look good to eat but I can't bring myself to eat them regularly either. This is an interesting area in that everything growing here is abnormally large. Morels pop up here in March as well and are 6 to 8 inches long. I tried burning these Helvella because they have rocket fuel in them, but nothing exciting happened. Smelled weird though.
