This is Elmo; he is just two years old. He loves whistling the Addams Family and will join in if you start. he even does the thumb clicks by tweeting or tapping his beak at the appropriate time. He loves dancing and enjoys a nice cuddle.

  • I see some of the comments about clipping the wings. I am a new bird owner and have a lot of learning to do it seems. Why is clipping the wings a bad thing? I have had both of my birds clipped and never heard of it being "bad." If it's something I shouldn't be doing, I will stop but would like to know why.

  • @MICHAELB051973 Clipping the wings prevents the bird from flying. My bird is allowed out of his cage to fly and his wings are not clipped. I would never dream of disfiguring my beautiful friend in that way. People who clip the wings are preventing their bird from living in a natural way and to me this is barbaric.

  • you gotta be kidding!!! is that you whistling behind the camera?

  • Certainly not. If you look at him you can see his beak moving as he whistles. He has an excellent sense of rhythm and whisltes much better than I do!

  • @MICHAELB051973 ........... Some people such as myself dont like doing it because it's not natural. We had birds along time ago that were clipped. They still tried to fly , and ended up hurting themselfs because they couldn't get to where they wanted.

  • @MICHAELB051973

katyrus@live.com if you would like to chat. Good luck.

  • @MICHAELB051973 In closing. We got Piper about two years ago and he totally won my heart. Goldie and Yawnee didn't help. I love them. I can tell by your post that you love your birds. Truth is, I don't like the clipped wings. I really don't like having birds. They should be in the wild. But, along came Piper. Good luck, my friend. You'll take good care of your birds, I'm sure.

  • @MICHAELB051973 I am having trouble posting....Our female was clipped when we got her and it took her a long time to grow her wings and to learn to fly. I had always said I would never have a bird for a pet because it would break my heart to see it caged. Then a friend gave us a male, Piper and I fell in love. I wish that was the end of the story, because Piper and I were getting so close. Hubby bought Goldie home and Piper dumped me. lol...They had Yawnee..our baby girl. and that's that.

  • @MICHAELB051973 I wouldn't recommend clipping a birds wings. If you keep them in a "confined" area, they can fly. Our birds have taken over the bedroom. They sleep on the door and we keep plastic on the floor where they go so it's easier to clean.

  • Head shake::: Mr. Elmo: " What was that note again? "

  • Fake or not. Those sunflowers sure are beautiful. Breath taking... goes well with Mr. Elmo, too! ;-)

  • ♥ Awesome ♥
