Neil Conan of NPR brought radio show host Michael Savage on the air on Tuesday, 5.5.09, to make his case against the recent ban on his entering the United Kingdom. Savage opened by vigorously condemning the U.K. for undermining his right to free speech only to hang up on NPR because a caller exercised his freedom of speech to criticize Savage.

  • @mrbarthoss1 It sure seemed from this that Michael Savage is interested in his right to speech, but not others. Neil correctly gave Savage an opening to leave the show. 'Talk of the Nation' is just that. People are allowed to give their opinion. If you can't sit still and listen to what other people think, you don't have to be there (or listen to it).

  • NPR = pseudo science = dogma = dog shit

  • "Then please do them."

    YES! I love you Neil!

  • @newyorker2001 Agreed. No amount of FACTS, numbers and names of people killed by terrorist attacks, no number of women hanged for adultery and homosexuals hanged, no number of artists persecuted by Islamic theocracy will stop the nonsensical left wing hatred of the people who dare speak the truth about Fascist Theocratic Islamist ideology that causes pain, destruction, poverty and suffering in every country which is under its rule.

  • @Tigeriger6 If he was there to express an opinion and not hear opposing views, that's not a conversation. And that's what TotN is about, opposing views being aired, not just yelling and scaring old people.

  • @mntribefan But he was bashing him. Bashing does not equal speaking their mind. Now if it's a forum for jerks like that jeffery fag for speaking their mind, then I don't blame savage for hanging up. I wouldn't want to talk to that jerk.

  • @gamefreak1000000 The program is a forum for people get to speak their mind. That's the point. The subject was Savage's words getting him banned from the UK. Reasonable or not, the caller's comments were on-subject.

So yes, the difference is Savage 'knowing' he is right and the caller is a nobody versus being an adult, keeping your mouth shut and letting someone speak their mind.

  • @mntribefan There's a difference between listening to an opinion and being bashed by a bum in pajamas in a mental asylum.

  • Fuck NPR. Liberal pieces of crap.
