  • Whenever I hear this song it is impossible for me not to think of a great Geordie lady I loved in the 70s and loved until she left this world last year. We would swing together at parties part driven by the Brown Ale. We would also swing together in our pursuit of justice and a fair deal for the less fortunate in our greedy society. Over the years we made an unlikely alliance but a lasting one. Even the most unlikely combinations can swing together. Great song, thanks for sharing it.

  • @staginnhastings The extra long live version of We Can Swing Together with the Z Cars bit is still out there. I had that live vinyl back then, but more recently I downloaded it from Play.com. It wasn't expensive, just the price of one track, and I now have it on a comp. cd.

  • @easycheesy80 Haha same here, I found the Mojo compilation very neat!

  • class!

  • Cheers Noel :)

  • ..................... Jacka played the Z cars theme during his harmonica solo. Beer cans were hurled from all over towards the stage, most of them ending up in the ornamental pond before the stage. I only saw one copper on duty all day. Happy, happy days.

  • I remeber having a live album in the 70's where the track was recorded in Newcastle at either christmas or new year. Jacka's harmonica solo went on for ages. The track was about 20 minutes long. I saw them a couple of times live. The final time was at a Crystal Palace garden party, an olympic year, cos David Coleman's voice kept coming through the stage speakers due to the close proximity of the television masts.

  • @ RatManAl

Alan Hull recorded this on his own before Lindisfarne was formed. Perhaps all ozzymotorhead is saying is that he likes that solo version better.

  • Been f/cking years last time i listerned to this toppa.

  • @ Ozzymotorhead

  • this is awful. the alan hull original was so much better
