i HAVEN'T filmed my food storage yet, but it it not rocket science to store food. Keep in mind that 2 years before ww2 life was so great that nobody ever thought of saving food. Three years later, millions were dying because they had no food. At stalingrad they ate dogs, cats a nd even humans. This is the truth. The germans were also in a bad shape. 7-10 million ukranians starved to death. Tens of millions of eurpeans died of starvation. SAVE FOOD NOW, BE SMART!

During Hurricane Rita....I lived in the stone age for 3 weeks.......Great advice.....Mixing up long term and short term is essential!........And another thing that most people forget.....Stock candy.....Sounds silly.....But believe me.....Sometimes that candy will put a well needed smile on your face.....Very important.....

@superchink28 Things in their original form like wheat berries, spelt berries, honey, & syrup typically won't go bad EVER with half-way decent storage conditions. Wheat from the pyramids was pulled out & sprouted recently with no problems. Honey will crystalize, but can be returned to it's original condition by soaking it in warm water. Preservatives aren't needed for WHOLE foods; just when you start processing them.

@systemaddictshock A lot of preppers also store proteins and fats. Beans are an excellent protein & are great for long-term storage. However, whole-grains DO contain protein as well.

@MrShovelheaddan You CAN cook chunky soup, corn, chili, baked beans, etc. with dried products. You just have to make the foods from scratch.

@Metallicafan6611 It isn't good to have MRE's as your main source of food storage. They are very bad on your digestive system.
-
@openupfresh well then i guess they have bigger issues to deal with then ,dont they.
-
Just thought I would stop by and review some of the first Prep videos that I started out with.

@Metallicafan6611 even start before the collapse, spread organic heirloom seed far and wide everywhere!! then you have thosands of times the amount of food supply!!! please spread to others this is called "johnny apple seed economics" or "gorrila gardens". please start sooner, seed can go bad to if its stored to long in the wrong conditions!! good job man! people planting seeds and saving seeds are 100s of steps ahead of stored food models!
-
@katz217 DO SOMETHING THEN!spread organic heirloom food seed far and wide, its called"johnny appleseed economics"or"gorrila gardens",spread more organic food. wake up everyone,do your part!?IF YOU ARE angry, get seed and make a organic revolution your way.SPREAD THE HEIRLOOM SEED EVERYWHERE TELL OTHERS! INCREASE THE FOOD SUPPLY RIGHT NOW WHILE WE GOT TIME!! GROW VERTICAL GARDENS IF YOU DONT HAVE THE SPACE! START NOW!
A PEOPLE IS ONLY AS STRONG AS ITS STOMACH!
tell 10 OTHER PEOPLE RIGHT NOW!

@lordconan1976 they were 3 days of ration for 1 person. Local SAMS club had them discounted for 3.50$ 3 years back so i snagged up 50$ worth. I gave away most to friends as car kit food and to those just getting started . I kept about "6" days worth for my family of 3, as back ups to back ups/handouts etc. They were made from MRE snacks( bread, brownies, crackers) canned goods, water pouches, chem lites and hygene kits.

Very informative! Thank you! With the large cans, I assume you have to use all the contents because otherwise the food would spoil right? We are a family of 3 and I would like to get more food stored for "just in case" situations. Do you think buying the large cans would be a good idea for us?
MyCameos66 1 year ago
@MyCameos66 depends how many eaters there is. I dont store large can's of wet packed foods, they will spoil way to fast. The #10's shown in the film are freeze dried/dehydrated foods. They wont spoil once opened if used within decent amount of time.
