@Gladenator; yep, your right! Executive producer Nel de Clerck Berghout did a search through Cologne to find the best location; she came up with St Marien hospital! We had some great years there making this series.

Bei den allerersten Folgen gab es eine andere Version (Darsteller vor weissem Vorhang). Als sie die ersten Folgen wiederholten, wurde selbst der alte Vorspann zu der neuen Version wie hier überspielt auch mit den Schauspielern der ersten Folge.

@Restlessi , Nope, this leader was the only one that was used; from episode one to episode 160.

We once made a 'modern' version on request of RTL; allthough we did not agree (never change the leadertune of good series) to change it; finally the people at RTL agreed so the leader remained the same of all the years.

@hotneonmusic Yep: please read below. The leader was changed many times in fact; because new characters appeared in the show. The first tune we wrote for this series was based on our idea of how the leader should be filmed. It was finally too expensive to make it like that; so we wrote another score (tune). After 6 months, the series was already a hit in Germany, the budget was raised, a new leader was filmed on how we meant it with the first leader we wrote; so the music does not really fit!

I was involved with this series from the very first beginning; like many other drama-series produced by John de Mol productions. We had a great team, and a super producer; called Nel de Clerck. With her I made some great tv series! Enjoy the tune, perhaps I once will put the first tune meant for this series

By the way, we also made most of the underscore for the Wache; the series was going down in popularity and than we got involved and brought a complete new rock-style of underscore; the series raised in ratings for soon after. When we quited, after many discussion with the silly director John van der Rest (who was fired the next season) the series want down in ratings again, and stopped soon after: it's called justice, hahaha!

Das Set war damals in einem echten Krankenhaus... Im Kölner St. Marien Hospital am Kunibertskloster wurde die Stadtklinik gedreht... Es gab dort vor den Renovierungsarbeiten einen Stillgelegten Trakt, dort getrennt von den echten Patienten wurde immer gedreht... ^^

@hotneonmusic no, that is not true: RTL once repeated one in the early afternoon (12.30) the first episodes of Stadtklinik and I mean there were other pictures of the first actors replaced in the repeating. The music indeed stayed the same but not the first actors pictures. I really checked that before with my VCR. Same phenomenom for "Die Wache", later they did not show the original pictures
