@DeathIsSly ususally triple is learned before double for most folks or comes easier . remember te ka te ka te ka fast for triples. watch the vid on here of Nakariakov playing Hora Stacatto or Maurice Andre. Mind blowing! The Master now is Allen Vizzutti.

@chocotacosauce Well theres no way i can say Q or shape my tongue like that and do it fast very uncomfortable and not natural. Ku works but but theres one nobody talks much about and thats doo-goo doo-goo as long as the tongue arches up toward the top of the mouth.

Hi There
I have a top denture with three front teeth on it. Do you know if I will need to get implants to be a good trumpet player?
I recently picked up a trumpet just this last year and I just managed to double tongue on the trumpet for the first time ever yesterday. So that's what they mean't! Now I understand. I played a euphonium when I was a boy and I always ignored the tongueing altogether. It never made any sense to me.

Hey mr high note retard, go listen to some mellow Wynton, Miles, Dizzy and Boti and get a technique rather then blowing high notes out of your asshole like some Maynard wanna be. Dime a dozen high note loser with no style of his own.

ta ka ta ka is a bad way to double tongue. Especially to learn. Arban, the innovator of double tonguing was French. He stresses using tu ku not ta ka. Also, since he was French the syllables are more like tew kew. The second syllable is almost like you are saying the letter Q. Using a ka tongue accents the note in the back of your mouth, which isn't good.

Don't listen to this guy or you will become confused. Tu Ku is only used for people who have a certain rare dental makeup and will limit almost EVERYONE in their ability to double tongue out of the staff
