A scene from the Chinese action flick "Xanda", which is a movie based on the martial art "sanda" (also known as "sanshou"). Sanda is a modernised form of kung-fu which evolved from various wushu styles with foundations based on Jeet Kune Do and Shuai Chiao (Chinese wrestling). It is now a popular full-contact sport much like kickboxing that also allows the use of throws, body slams and take-downs.

In this scene, Qiang's friend, Long, takes on the reigning sanda champion, Wei (the guy that Qiang encoutered in the street fight scene).

  • i love hot asian guys who box thats why im subscribing

  • lol these ppl are crazy sanda is most def not based on jkd its based on all of the most easy to adapt to and effective techniques of shaolin with some takedowns...shaolin also has ground game its just not allowed in sanda tournaments bc its just kickboxing

  • sanda is basically kickboxing mix with useful takedowns

  • sanda san shou es la modalidad de una especie de boxeo del clasico kung fu para competencia federadas y cosas asi.

  • @kagolkoI'm not a fan, just a fact. Van Dame in movies - looks like a joke. I saw a private vid with him fooling around, one can tell the dude used to fight and his timimng was very good, particularly the leg work. He can easily kick some ass, believe me

  • Sanda is basically like the Chinese equivalent of Vale Tudo.

  • What's with the annoying Bourne like camerawork? Otherwise, it's a fine fight :p

  • nope kung fu

  • I heard that Van Dame was a kickboxer in europe before making movies. Sure it's fake in the real life fighting sense, just like a bodybuilder typically isn't as strong as a powerlifter. Just try to enjoy the fantasy.
