This is from photo and video taken on the 17th of October or so. The band with the stiltwalkers is apparently March Fourth.
I was going to upload it immediately, but I had a cold and got really hectic for a while. I thought it was too late, and I might be right; as of today, they're trying to disband the camp this weekend... But that makes it relevant again. So here it is.
Problems with homelessness that the city cannot cure are being actively dealt with, with few resources, in that park; and now the city is blaming the encampment. Pass the buck much? It would be funny, if it weren't likely to result in the deaths of human beings.
Share this, please. Remind people what this is all for. If the protest as it currently exists must be disbanded, I hope dearly that the community and creativity it represents will persist; that people will carry these meanings and connections out into the world with them.
Thank you, Occupants, for a level of work I can't even begin to encompass. It is a great privilege to document.
I've been meaning to thank you for posting this. I'm way over in Chicago, but it's so good to get glimpses of everyone's Occupy. No matter how scrambled things appear to get as the days and weeks go on, you're right: this isn't a battle, it's a seed.
