At the 2011 PEN Awards Ceremony Nicole Krauss introduced the event with a stirring speech about the importance of literature in the digital age, and Aleksandar Hemon, Danielle Evans, Roger Angell, and David Henry Hwang were among those who accepted awards. Honorees traveled to the ceremony from places far and near—Rome, San Francisco, Santa Fe, Chicago, Baltimore, and elsewhere.
